Professional Bio
Matt Martin has spent 30 years in the nonprofit community, focusing on issues as international as nuclear weapons nonproliferation and as local as city transportation.
Born and raised in Nebraska, Matt grew up in Omaha and moved to Washington, DC after graduating from Creighton University, where he worked for a US Senator and several policy think tanks. After stints in communities as diverse as Muscatine, Iowa and Portland, Oregon, Matt returned to Omaha in 2017 and since then has been active in local and statewide community development. Before joining NAM in 2024, Matt led refugee programming at Lutheran Family Services, helping to resettle thousands of refugees into our communities.
Throughout his career, Matt has engaged a wide range of audiences, from national policymakers and local civic groups to community college students and international media. In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, playing music, building furniture, and riding his bike.
