Professional Bio

ALEX JOCHIM is an Omaha, NE based photographer and community organizer. He typically shoots 35mm film with a Canon AE-1, but often utilizes alternative film types, cameras, or techniques.

He is the co-founder and director of BFF Omaha, a local nonprofit building community through arts engagement. He is also involved in many community events, projects, and programs, including founder and contributor to First Friday art walks in Benson, Petshop (studios & galleries), the MaMO Gallery, the BFF Gallery, Trudy's (studios & classrooms), First Friday Pride, the New American Arts Festival, and the Benson Creative District. He is the recipient of the Cultural Stewardship Award (OEAAs) and Changemaker Award (Greater Omaha Chamber).

He has exhibited locally in Omaha and Lincoln and outside Nebraska in Council Bluffs, IA; Denver, CO; New York, NY; Tampa, FL; and Cadiz, Spain. Jochim received his Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
