Professional Bio
Charles was first exposed to mediation while in college but didn’t start formal mediation training until 2009 while working for probation. He transitioned to the position of Executive Director of the Seward Area Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)6, then in 2015 to Executive Director for Mediation West, a 501(c)3 that assists residents of Nebraska’s 15 western-most counties.
Charles also serves as a trainer and board member for the Nebraska Mediation Association, a 501(c)3; as Treasurer for NAFCM (the National Association for Community Mediation), a 501(c)3; as President of the Nebraska Writer's Guild, a 501(C)3; and Secretary of the Gering Public Library Foundation, a 501(c)3. These connections help Charles collaborate with non-profit leaders and conflict prevention and engagement practitioners across the country.
