Professional Bio
Ivy Svoboda is the Executive Director of the Nebraska Alliance of Child Advocacy Centers that provides statewide leadership in the fight against child abuse with its member centers, Nebraska’s seven fully accredited Child Advocacy Centers. Ivy, the founding Executive Director, has worked with these centers for seventeen years and has over 30 years of experience in agencies serving children and families. She collaborates with professional partners at all levels to support the development and sustainability of child advocacy centers in Nebraska, promoting system improvements through advocacy and awareness to advance the mission “to enhance Nebraska’s response to child abuse.”
Ivy actively participates in several statewide groups. She is a member of the Governor’s Commission for the Protection of Children, the Nebraska Attorney General’s Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force Advisory Board, and the Nebraska Supreme Court Commission on Children in the Courts. Additionally, she contributes to several statewide and national collaborative work groups and serves on the Midwest Regional Child Advocacy Center Advisory Board.
In 2009, Ivy was appointed as a Child Advocacy Center Site Reviewer for the National Children’s Alliance. In this role, she conducts in-depth reviews of Child Advocacy Centers' practices across the nation, ensuring compliance with National Children’s Alliance Standards of Accreditation. Her interactions with centers nationwide help her reinforce best practices in Nebraska.
Ivy holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Kansas.
