Professional Bio
Taylor Ullom is the Founder, President, and Executive Director of Hero’s Encore, a nonprofit organization dedicated to guiding U.S. military veterans, transitioning service members, and first responders on a transformative journey from peer to performer, utilizing musical expression as a tool for healing, self-discovery, and a renewed sense of purpose.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Taylor served from 1993 to 2003 as an Education and Training Manager, where she developed programs to enhance service members’ professional growth. As a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and a survivor of Military Sexual Trauma (MST), Taylor deeply understands the challenges of trauma and transitioning to civilian life.
Her personal journey with PTSD and the healing power of music inspired her to create Hero’s Encore. Learning guitar as a teenager provided Taylor with an outlet for emotional recovery and self-expression, a passion she now shares with others through her organization’s transformative program, which includes, individualized musical instruction, songwriting, performance, and community engagement.
In addition to leading Hero’s Encore, Taylor is an advocate for mental health awareness and veteran support. A singer-songwriter, guitarist, and international keynote speaker, she was honored in the book MISSION ACCEPTED as one of 262 women making a global impact through resilience and creativity.
Taylor collaborates with veteran organizations and community leaders to build a strong support network for Heroes and their families. Under her leadership, Hero’s Encore continues to amplify voices, foster healing, and inspire lasting change in the lives of those who have served. Her vision is to restore hope for our nation's heroes and reunite families.
