After the Work is Done: Using Program Evaluation for Learning and Accountability
When reporting on your work at the close of a grant, you’re typically asked to provide data for demonstrating success and accountability. However, program evaluation should go beyond “showing your work.” Its true power is in using data to learn your strengths, weaknesses, and the real impact(s) of your work. This interactive training session equips nonprofit professionals with the essential tools for using evaluation to ensure accountability and compliance while also using data for macro and micro approaches to continuous improvement.
Participants will learn key evaluation concepts, including setting measurable objectives, selecting appropriate data collection methods, and analyzing results to track program progress and improve the effectiveness of future iterations of your work. The session will also cover strategies for using evaluation findings for learning and improvement, communicating impact to stakeholders, and strengthening future funding opportunities.
Through real-world examples, hands-on exercises, and peer discussions, attendees will gain practical skills to integrate evaluation into their program management, enhance transparency, and maximize their organization’s impact.
